Business Mathematics explores the practical application of mathematics and statistics in business operations. The title begins by defining the number system, and then guides students in performing basic calculations. It proceeds to demonstrate how business problems can be reduced to equations, and provides an understanding of integers, fractions, decimals and ratios, among other calculations. Probability theory, workplace data manipulation, as well as measures of centre and dispersion, are then further explored. At this stage, students will understand data analysis, and will be able to perform data interpretation and to communicate the results thereof. Finally, the title outlines the metrics of geometry, and concludes with an overview of how business mathematics can be applied to various financial matters.
